Highly Recommended! Very professional - Millennium Painting and Renovations LLC - www.Millennium-Painting.com - 703-690-2943 - Fausto Mendez owner and crew of three came out and repainted our front door surround, soffit, rake board trim, garage door, Bay window, 3 French doors in all remaining painted wood trims: Caulk putty and paint for a super reasonable price!! It took them one day to complete the job. In addition, they are a general contracting service (Kitchen and Bathroom renovations, Drywall installation, Flooring and Powerwash).

We contacted **H & W Contracting** Rod Wilson - Falls Church, VA 703-868-6763 about a leak we found in the cabinet over our refrigerator. He came the day after we contacted him to check out the issue. The next day he sent a crew that worked diligently to find the leak and repair the water leak. They were efficient, professional, personable and did an excellent job for us. We will definitely have them back for any other contractor needs.

Chimney repair - In the high winds of the past winter an aluminum chimney guard at the top of one of our chimneys blew off, taking a portion of the flue liner with it. The damage was quickly repaired at minimum cost by Winston's Chimney Service (2701 South Oakland Street, Arlington VA 22206, 703-379-5006). We were pleased with the service.

Brick cleaning and repair - We recently had the brickwork on our entrance stairs power washed, and areas where paving bricks on our sidewalk and back patio had settled repaired. We used GRG Quality Masonry (Raul Vargas, 703-717-1928, Hiessie Ruiz, 703-577-7955, Hessie@hotmail.com). Raul did quality work at a reasonable price.

Window cleaning - After having the exterior of the windows in our house painted, we had the windows cleaned inside and out. We used We Do Windows, a division of Winston's of Northern Virginia (2701 South Oakland Street, Arlington VA 22206, 703-351-6611). Garage Doors - Our automatic garage door openers were making a racket. We called Capital Door (703.478.6333) who diagnosed the problem: the painters had painted the rubber membrane that acts as a barrier along the exterior edge. The paint in warm weather acts as an adhesive causing the door to stick and the motor to overwork-hence the racket. The strips were replaced along with the light sockets on the two units for $200. There were timely and efficient and no charge for the initial visit. We've used them in the past and have always been pleased.

Exterminator - I have used Western Exterminating for years. They service the outside of the house twice a year and any indoor problems as needed. We had a massive infestation of ants some 17 years ago when we first moved here and I have been using them ever since. 703 273-4887

Gas log services - For Gas Log Installation and Repair Service contact: Jim Hoskins: 703 560-9567. He worked for Washington Gas and really knows his stuff. Also, My office, the office of Keller Williams Realty on Elm Street in McLean now has over 200 agents and whenever we are looking for any kind of service all we have to do is send out an email to all members and the responses come in immediately. When I asked for a Gas Log Repair person I immediately got about 15 responses and 12 of them mentioned Jim Hoskins. I would be happy to put out the request for anyone looking for help of any kind

Wildlife control - A squirrel entered our attic, looking for a place to nest and deliver her young. We had her trapped and removed, and the hole she chewed to enter repaired by Destination Wildlife Control (703) 973 - 3929. Jacob did timely and effective work - utilizing his 40 foot ladder that allowed him to get to the roof of our town house. Expensive, but effective.

Termite treatment - We pay $130 a year for a warranty from Better Termite & Pest Control Co. (703-683-2000). The warranty states "BTPC certifies that if, during the life of this warranty, an inspection of the areas treated shows infestation by Subterranean Termites, BTPC will furnish, at no cost to the holder of this warranty all labor, chemicals, materials, and equipment necessary to eliminate such infestation". If I recall correctly, this company did the original protection when our house was built some 17 years ago, and I have kept up the annual coverage since. We have had one episode with detection of an early infestation, and they did a full house-surrounding treatment.
